MARRAKECH – A FOUR NIGHT TRIP

Explore the mystique and magic of Marrakech and the High Atlas Mountain village of Imlil, this journey reveals Morocco’s many facets, and adds absorbing character with stays in historic riads.

Marrakech – one of Morocco’s four Imperial cities founded in 1062 by the Almoravides, nomadic   Berbers – a vibrant and atmospheric city, offering a mix of old and new.  Amongst the places we visit are:   the Djemaa el Fna Square,  the great square  in the heart of the Medina; the 12th century Koutubia Mosque, one of Morocco’s largest;  the Majorelle Gardens, created by Jacques and Louis Majorell in the 19th century, now owned by The Yves Saint Laurent, and housing the Pierre Berge Museum of Berber Arts;  the El Bahia Palace,  a fine example of Andalusian 19th century domestic architecture with its harems, council chamber with painted ceiling and tiled walls, all grouped around a large central courtyard with fountains and colonnades; the Dar Si Said Museum, one of Morocco’s best museums.   We also drive out of Marrakech to the Atlas mountains and its Berber villages.
